In the ”shopping and cultural center“ Espaço Chiado, there are three record stores housed in glass cases. If you visit all of them, you’ll find a wide range of styles. Musical taste aside, each store is well-organized and staffed by knowledgeable people. The remarkable building dates from the 1990s, but it missed out on the tourist boom and is somewhat underappreciated architecturally. You might lose track of time while you’re there.
