Rua do Salvador may not be a grand avenue, but it’s a charming old street with good gastronomy packed into a small area — just don’t fall for the ”Imperial” on the corner.

Later in the day, we’d send people to the tapas bar ”O Vinhaca”. If you want to fuel up for navigating the ups and downs of the old town in the morning, Quase Café offers a full brunch program catering to every taste and dietary preference. Decision-making is made easier with combos for one or two people, where kids can easily join in. They even have a children’s breakfast option. Opening at 8:30 am, the place is small, so expect wait times later in the day. Coming early is advisable.
