Grabbing chicken when you don’t feel like cooking at home.

Lafões is a bit like the Portuguese equivalent of French Bresse: the land of free-range poultry. It’s offered just off the main road in Fernão Ferro, in a snack-bar style, grilled over charcoal, with spicy or lemon sauce. Good quality, priced very reasonably. Easy to miss with a few parking spots out front. There’s also a sort of kiosk attached — in case you need chips, beer, water, or anything else. Open until 9:30 PM, daily except Mondays.
