In the garden of Embaixada sits a very nice steakhouse with prices that are acceptable considering its location amidst designer boutiques in old palaces. Of course, that’s relative, but it’s not so easy to find beef steaks in Portugal that meet international standards. Firstly, local meat is often barely aged and tends to be tough. That’s why they cut thin slices that cook quickly — especially if you like them classic in sauce.
At Atalho Real, it's different. They offer various cuts in standard sizes with sides ranging between 20 and 30 euros, and if you want more meat, you pay extra per 100 grams. You can also order for several people, for example, a T-Bone, which is also calculated by weight. The quality is good, the service professional, and the ambiance upscale, especially outdoors.
