A nice drink in between. The few tables facing the river offer the best views.

 

We often recommend this to our guests for a first drink in the afternoon after the obligatory walk through the lower town on their first day in Lisbon. It’s extremely central, located behind the utterly unnecessary Time Out Market, on the roof of a building that used to belong to the Portuguese Telecom. You have to pass through a hotel reception and take the elevator to reach a terrace with partially beautiful views of the south side of the river. Go straight for cocktails, arguably the best value for money. The indoor restaurant is a waste of time.
