If you enjoy zoos, you’ll love the Lisbon Zoo: it’s beautifully situated on a hill, not too large, well-designed for educational purposes even for little ones, and has a few highlights – notably the dolphin show and women swimming with seals. There are pygmy hippos, white tigers, bird shows with parrots, koalas almost within reach, and a cable car that takes you across the entire park. But yes, it’s still a zoo and far from a bargain.

The main entrance is right at the bus station for trips to/from Sesimbra, and you can park your car in the parking garage or on Calçada de Palma. You can also find alternatives to the questionable snack bars at the entrance in Laranjeiras, such as O Churrasco or Carvoeiro de Palma. The fact that neither has a website is a good sign.
