Dolphin Bay
DOLPHIN WATCHING
A must-do – and specifically on this boat.
Dolphin tours are offered everywhere. Please avoid most of them: many operators are in it for the money and lack expertise. In fact, they all follow the boat we recommend — because it’s the only one that guarantees dolphin sightings (and causes others to foolishly speed through the dolphin population). In the very rare event you don’t see any dolphins, you can join the tour again for free the next day.
The boat is operated by a young research team that provides knowledgeable information and answers all questions; they know every dolphin by name. These are marine biologists who follow a self-imposed code of conduct, turning away after half an hour with the dolphins to show you more of the coastline — the perspective from the sea alone makes the trip worthwhile. If the weather and timing are right, there’s even a stop for swimming. Departures are usually twice a day and can be booked in advance on their website. Book directly to avoid unnecessary intermediary fees. Occasionally, they also offer full-day tours with additional activities.
