Dino Parque Lourinhã
PLASTIC LIZARDS
Leave early, come back late, learn a lot.
Portugal’s cliffs are a paradise for dinosaur research — and Lourinhã is like the epicenter. This small town is one of the major excavation sites in Europe and offers the largest open-air museum in Portugal. It’s a Jurassic Park made of plastic, featuring 180 life-sized prehistoric lizards, supported by real exhibits. Definitely a modern educational experience and a lot of fun with kids. Even the cafeteria is considered tolerable. On top of that, the town also has the main museum on the topic.
