Manteigaria Silva

PORTUGUESE FOOD TRADITIONS

Gourmet delights since 1890.

Never been a hidden gem. But that’s okay. Just because a shop is in the midst of it all and visited by every food guide tour, doesn’t mean the business is bad. On the contrary, Silva remains a paradise for salted cod and ham, cheese and wine. It feels like they introduced tasting plates for tourists a hundred years ago. They’re good. Of course, everything is a bit pricey, but rents in Lisbon’s city center need to be compensated for. And yes, there’s also a stand in the Time Out Market.
