A market for upscale Portuguese products that started nearly 70 years ago: cured meats, cheeses, wines, jams, and more. Today, Riviera is known more as a huge counter for lunch and dinner for those in Alvalade who have no time or desire to cook. Grab some fruit and/or a bottle of wine along with your meal. Convenient for people with a vacation rental and little motivation to use a possibly less-than-great kitchen. Or for a quick meal on a park bench. Let’s not forget: they also sell excellent ham and the delightful cheese from Serra de Estrela.
