Padaria do Gá
BREAD ROLLS — SWEETS
The bakery — bold, red, and doubly underlined.
Located two minutes from Casa Eugenia on Rua da Fé: exit left from the house, go right along the street, then turn right again at the fourth alley. You can also follow the scent of fresh bread, less romantically the unmistakable delivery van, or simply the line of older people. Because Gá supplies half the village, you can’t go wrong with other bakeries either, although the bread may be less fresh. For a day at the beach or a short hike, grab some ”pão com chorizo,” Portuguese salami baked in a roll. Or opt for the various sweets whose names no one knows — we just point at them. An alternative for those looking for a quick coffee and sandwich is ”O Caseiro” on the main street next to the market hall.
